Jay Appaji is a senior student of Dr. Rohan Krishnamurthy regularly performs both in India and in the USA. In 2013, Jay received the Percussive Arts Society’s National Scholarship and in 2014 was selected as a Texas Young Master and Indian Raga Fellow. Jay has collaborated with acclaimed artists like Jamal Mohammed, Mark Landson, Katelyn Harris, and Charles Yang. Jay was recently invited by the Texas Cultural Trust to perform at the 2017 Texas Medal of the Arts Honoree Dinner. Jay considers it a privilege to of accompany artists all levels and is passionate about collaboration in the performing arts. Jay is currently a junior at SMU pursuing a double major in Music an Electrical Engineering.
